Dermaplaning is a method of manual exfoliation that is performed by using a scalpel that gently scrapes the outermost layers of the epidermis, therefore, ridding it of dead skin cells, impurities and debris. This treatment is an excellent way to exfoliate the skin and to regenerate new skin cells thus leaving the complexion smooth, soft and vibrant. Once the exfoliation is complete the patient will enjoy the benefits of having no vellus “peach fuzz” hair on the face as well as better skincare product penetration and performance. The treatment is followed by a light enzyme peel which removes the dead skin cells and encourages the regeneration of new skin cells. A light massage is performed, and finishes with a hydrating mask and LED therapy. It can also be combined with other treatments such as facials, chemical peels, and microneedling.

Get Silky Smooth Skin the Easy Way!
One of the most basic facets of every skincare routine is regular exfoliation that ensures your skin doesn’t have an accumulation of dead skin cells and bacteria that give you a dull complexion. But with our fast-paced lives, who has the time to exfoliate every week? If you’re looking for a quick way to get rid of dead skin cells for longer periods of time, a dermaplaning facial is just what you’re looking for!
At Glo Skin Medi Boutique, we offer an exquisite range of skin rejuvenation techniques including a dermaplaning facial. The treatment starts with a manual exfoliation with a scalpel to gently exfoliate the outermost layer of your skin to help you get rid of dust, pollution, and any other impurities that may have gotten caught in the dead skin cells. The manual exfoliation is then followed by an enzyme peel that regenerates new skin cells to give you a smoother complexion, diminished fine lines, and reduced the appearance of acne scars.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Who is it for?
Dermaplaning is recommended for all skin types except those with active acne. Patients wanting to treat acne scars, sun damage, fine lines and very dry skin are great candidates for dermaplaning. Patients that use Retin-A or Retinol creams must discontinue those products for 1 week prior to dermaplaning as well as 1 week after treatment.
How long is the treatment?
As a single treatment dermaplaning can be done in about 45 minutes; however, it can also be an add-on to any facial, microneedling or chemical peel.
Will dermaplaing make my facial hair come back thicker?
NO, dermaplaning will not change the histology of the hair. This means that the hair will not come back thicker, darker or coarser than it was before having the treatment.
How many dermaplaning treatments are needed to see results?
Patients will notice their skin is immediately smooth after the treatment is completed but typically need treatments once a month in order to achieve desired results.
